This is Pasar bersih. Pasar bersih translated to English is
a clean market. In Pasar bersih they sell Groceries, toys and “Batik”( Batik is traditional clothing
from Indonesia).
As you see in the
picture there is a lot of vegetables for example corn, chayote (labu siam), and pumpkin. You could also see on the bottom from left to right there are yam, bread fruit, peanut, papaya, taro, and kasava.
How do you buy something?
Usually the seller will provide a basket to put the things you want to buy. After that, you give your selections to the seller and she/he will weigh them. You pay based on how much it weighs. In the picture below, you could see my mm holding stinky bean (petai). This bean they sell by strand not weigh because they are quite light.

These are dried fish and squid (picture below). Usually the wives of fishers dry the fish and squid. They put a lot of salt on it and dry it under the sun. You fry or cook it before you eat it. The taste is very salty and yummy. Especially if you eat it with warm rice, sambal and steamed or fresh vegetables.
That is our story of going to pasar bersih. Do I want to go there again? Well yes of course. How about you? do you want to go there with me? why?
